YOUTUBE THUMBNAIL DESIGNER & THUMBNAIL MANAGER — 5+ YEARS
I design thumbnails that compete in the feed
Featured Work
BUILT FOR THE FEED, NOT JUST THE PORTFOLIOThe best work first, not everything — what's on this site is a small fraction of the 10,000+ thumbnails I've designed and managed. Every tile is a real upload thumbnail — filter by channel or format, click to see it full size.

Case Studies
Not just images — how thumbnail work actually operates inside high-volume YouTube production.
CASE STUDY 01 — LANKYBOX MAIN CHANNEL
Managing thumbnails at massive YouTube scale
For around 3.5 years I worked inside the LankyBox thumbnail pipeline during one of its biggest growth periods — joining at ~9M subscribers, leaving at 42M+. At peak, the channel published around 10 videos per day.
I contributed to the thumbnail pipeline during that growth — fast, clickable, consistent thumbnails built for a high-volume upload machine: launch thumbnails, swaps, A/B/C variations, bonus and compilation thumbnails, and performance review against CTR and views.

CASE STUDY 02 — LANKYBOX WORLD
Building thumbnail systems from the beginning
I started on LankyBox World when the channel had little to no uploads. By the time I left, it had 1.1K+ uploads — and the channel has grown to around 10M subscribers. I managed the channel's thumbnails and created many of them myself.
The work: a consistent visual identity, stronger click appeal, support for Roblox and animation content, and thumbnails tuned for a younger gaming audience — a style the channel could sustain at daily upload pressure.
CASE STUDY 03 — A/B/C TESTING & SWAPS
Designing with data, not guesswork
Before YouTube had native A/B testing tools, our team tested thumbnail variations manually — swaps, alternatives, and performance tracking. I reviewed CTR, views, and audience response to learn which visual ideas actually won: facial expressions, character scale, background color, focal point, contrast, object placement, emotional hook.
WHAT THOUSANDS OF TESTS TAUGHT ME
- 01
Emotion reads first
A clear face beats a busy scene at feed size. Expression is the hook.
- 02
One story per thumbnail
Split attention kills clicks. Every winning variant told exactly one thing.
- 03
Contrast beats detail
If it needs a zoom to understand, it fails. Winners read at 120 pixels wide.
- 04
The feed decides, not taste
The 'prettiest' version often lost. Swap fast, watch the data, keep what wins.
REPRESENTATIVE CYCLE — EVERY MANUAL TEST FOLLOWED THIS LOOP, YEARS BEFORE YOUTUBE SHIPPED NATIVE A/B TOOLS.

About me
I'm a YouTube thumbnail designer and thumbnail manager specializing in high-volume entertainment, Roblox, gaming, and kids content. Over the last 5 years, I've worked with some of the biggest channels in the space, including the LankyBox ecosystem and the Doodle and Arkey channels.
My work isn't only about making images look good. It's about understanding what makes a viewer stop scrolling, what makes a thumbnail readable at small size, what makes a character's emotion clear, and what makes a concept feel instantly clickable.
I've worked inside fast-moving YouTube production teams — managing thousands of thumbnails, analyzing CTR and views, testing variations, and building visual systems that survive daily upload pressure. I've worked where thumbnails are not decoration — they're part of the growth system.
